The criteria in base of which the "HRI award for Human Rights" is assigned, are the following:

  1. THE COUNTRY OF REFERENCE (the candidate is active in a country where basic human rights are violated and/or threatened and the State is not able to guarantee a suitable protection  of his activity);
  2. THE PRIORITY OF THE COUNTRY (the country is considered a priority regarding the support of co operational projects for development and for the promotion of the culture of peace and solidarity);
  3. THE FINANCIAL RELEVANCE OF THE AWARD IN THE DAILY EFFORT (the award will have a significant importance for the continuation of the candidate’s activity and for his engagement especially in relation to his economic condition and in absence of an adequate support by public or other institutions);
  4. THE PERSONAL COMMITMENT (the sustained battles, the obtained results and the projects in course for the protection of the basic human rights of mankind and his dignity, especially in favour of persons devoid of means);
  5. THE PERSONAL RISK (the negative consequences, be they personal, economic, or other, that the candidate has endured or is still enduring because of his commitment to the defence of human rights);
  6. THE ABSENCE OF INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION (the lack of international acknowledgments and the anonymity regarding the carried out activity);
  7. THE TRANSPARENCY (the candidate declares his projects and objectives);
  8. THE SUPPORT (the possibility of creating a steady relationship with the candidate and/or other organizations, associations and institutions of the country of reference, in the mutual mission for the defense of human rights);
  9. THE COMMITMENT FOR THE DEFENCE OF A MINORITY (working for the support of diversity, be it linguistic, cultural, ethnic, religious, political or other kind, threatened in its rights and freedom);
  10. THE POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL IMPACT (the consideration the award might receive in Italy and abroad);
